Then hate me when thou wilt, if euer, now,
Now while the world is bent my deeds to croffe,
Ioyne with the spight of fortune, make me bow,
And doe not drop in for an after loffe:
Ah doe not, when my heart hath fcapre this forrow,
Come in the rereward of a conquerd woe,
Giue not a windy night a rainie morrow,
To linger out a purposed ouer-throw.
If thou wilt leaue me, do not leaue me laft,
When other pettie griefes haue done their spight,
But in the onset come, fo stall I taffé
At first the very worst of fortunes might,
And other strains of woe, which now feeme woe,
Compar'd with loffe of thee, will not feeme fo.

Some glory in their birth, some in their skill,
Some in their wealth, some in their bodies force,
Some in their garments though new-fangled ill:
Some in their Hawkes and Hounds, some in their Horfe,
And euery humor hath his adiunc' pleasure,
Wherein it findes a joy about the rest,
But these perticulers are not my measure,
All these I better in one general best.
