4th. Resolved that we are anew imposed with the necessity of withholding our votes from incompetent applicants for the honors of this College & we pledge ourselves in our heart to our another to be ever faithful to him in this particular. Dr. Kerr & Cleveland were appointed a committee to wait upon Dr. Farrell with these resolutions & request a reconsideration of his letter of resignation. On motion Dr. Cleveland was added to the committee - formerly consisting of Drs. Farrell, Ferrett & Preston - for preparing the am. Government - for the coming session. Dr. Preston stated that Miss Putnam had requested that her letter should be returned to her on the presentation of the same thesis in English. On motion Dr. Preston was authorized to accept an English thesis from Miss Putnam & to convey to her the congratulations of the faculty upon her advance in judgement since her graduation. On motion adjourned. E. W. Cleveland, Secretary
