## Overview
This entity is a textual segment labeled "Committee Report" extracted from a transcript of the minute book of the Faculty of the Female Medical College of Pennsylvania. It spans lines 225 to 270 of the source file and was processed on January 28, 2026, as part of a structured text extraction workflow. The segment records official faculty actions and resolutions from meetings held in October and November 1850, including committee reports, administrative decisions, and personnel appointments.
## Context
The segment is part of the [Minute Book of the Faculty of the Female Medical College of Pennsylvania](arke:01KG32C06FD9K6ZP2KZBJPTP7W), a formal record of faculty proceedings at one of the earliest institutions in the United States dedicated to women's medical education. It was extracted from a processed text file ([drexel_test_processed.txt](arke:01KG32AHNW242BGXQVDZD038ZB)) that aggregates scanned pages of historical documents. This material is held within the [Test Collection](arke:01KG2T49K0H5GDRB0G4YDTPG8H), a digital repository for archival experimentation. The report follows a prior segment documenting earlier faculty discussions and precedes another detailing further resolutions and appointments.
## Contents
The segment begins with a report from a committee appointed to address the rights and responsibilities of the Demonstrator of Anatomy, recommending that cadavers for dissection be managed under the supervision of the Professor of Anatomy and the Demonstrator for the benefit of students and the institution. The report is signed by A.D. Chaloneer, M.D., and Jos. S. Longshon. Subsequent entries record the election of Drs. Chaloneer and Longshon as surgeon and physician for a one-month term. The minutes also include resolutions on financial procedures, such as requiring the Dean to issue certificates for students paying by note or check and presenting these to the next faculty meeting. Administrative changes include the resignation of Prof. McCloskey as Dean and the election of Prof. Moseley as his successor. Other actions involve leasing arrangements for property at 229 Arch Street, the appointment of a committee to organize the museum, and consideration of remuneration for Mrs. Armstrong regarding the use of the premises. The segment concludes with plans to organize the faculty as a board for the Lying-in Department.
