# Meeting on Oct 11th, 1850 ## Overview This entity is a digitized textual segment representing the minutes of a faculty meeting held on October 11, 1850, at Dr. Mosley’s office. It is part of the [Minute Book of the Faculty of the Female Medical College of Pennsylvania](arke:01KG32C06FD9K6ZP2KZBJPTP7W) and was extracted from the processed text file [drexel_test_processed.txt](arke:01KG32AHNW242BGXQVDZD038ZB). The segment spans lines 176 to 186 of the source document and records formal resolutions and administrative decisions made by the faculty during the mid-19th century. ## Context The meeting is part of the institutional record-keeping of the [Female Medical College of Pennsylvania](arke:01KG32C06FD9K6ZP2KZBJPTP7W), one of the earliest medical schools for women in the United States. This segment follows the [Meeting on Oct 24, 1850](arke:01KG32DSH7JDJ6C8BYNPWJV2S4) in reverse chronological order—indicating a possible data sequencing anomaly—and precedes the [Meeting of Faculty](arke:01KG32DRKK3863V1249MXX72GN), which contains additional resolutions and reports. The document was digitized as part of the [Test Collection](arke:01KG2T49K0H5GDRB0G4YDTPG8H), a curated set of historical materials assembled from scanned images such as [a092_001_005.jpg](arke:01KG327RBHVEC78T4YEWV7BHRP). ## Contents The minutes document the adoption of prior proceedings and continuation of an existing committee. Key resolutions include the renewal of a "pap book" arrangement with Mr. Pease for covering faculty expenses, a motion by Prof. McCluskey instructing the Dean to inform matriculants about lecture schedules, and a resolution by Dr. Chalunor setting a minimum ticket price of ten dollars unless waived by faculty consent. The segment also outlines financial responsibilities: matriculation fees were to partially cover the $350 college rent, with faculty pledging to cover any shortfall from their initial student receipts. A note dated “Philad. Sept 13th 1850” appears at the end, possibly referencing an earlier document or decision.
