Overview

This digital collection reproduces the bound minute book of the Faculty of the Female Medical College of Pennsylvania (later the Woman’s Medical College of Pennsylvania) for the years 1863‑1864. Background

Founded in 1850, the Female Medical College of Pennsylvania was the first institution worldwide organized to train women for the medical profession. The minutes in this collection were recorded by faculty members and the college secretary, Emeline H. Cleveland, and later bound into a single volume (a92_001).   • Committee and Financial Records – Reports on audit, museum, and beneficence committees, as well as financial summaries and donation allocations.
